Shine the Light: Becoming the Yes

Updated: Oct 10, 2025

What Does it Mean to Become the Yes?

To become the yes is to awaken to the truth already within us. As Rev. Skip Jennings shares,

"We are here to call in the light—and the light is a recognition that we are the light."

Saying yes is more than words—it’s about embodying Spirit in action and remembering that love, peace, joy, and abundance already exist within us.

The Call to Embody Spirit

There’s an old story about a man stranded on his roof during a flood. As the waters rose higher, he prayed for God to save him. Soon, a rowboat passed by, then a motorboat, and finally a helicopter. Each time, he refused help, insisting, “God will save me.” Sadly, he drowned. When he reached heaven, he asked God why his prayers had gone unanswered. God replied: “I sent you a rowboat, a motorboat, and a helicopter. What more do you need?”

We are often like that man—waiting for something outside of us to change the world. But the truth is, the help has already arrived. “You are the rowboat. You are the motorboat. You are the helicopter,” Rev. Skip said. Each of us carries the Spirit that can transform our lives and our communities.

Saying Yes to Spirit in Action

Becoming the yes means showing up as Spirit in action:

  • Yes to being love.

  • Yes to joy.

  • Yes to compassion.

  • Yes to oneness.

As Rev. Skip reminds us:

"The only thing missing in the world is what I’m not willing to bring."

The Five A’s of Becoming the Yes

Here is a practical framework to live this message each day—the Five A’s of Becoming the Yes:

  1. Awareness – be aware of Spirit moving through you.

  2. Acceptance – claim your power.

  3. Alignment – connect daily through prayer, meditation, and movement.

  4. Action – “We treat and we move our feet.”

  5. Anchoring – root yourself in spiritual truth.

Living with Purpose and Light

Through visioning, surrender, discipline, and gratitude, we align with Spirit and catch a greater vision for our lives and for the world. The invitation is simple yet powerful:

Stop playing small. Say it aloud: I’m here to shine the light. I’m here to shine it bright.

Becoming the yes means saying yes to life, yes to Spirit, and yes to the love already within you.
