To experience an Oasis-In-The-Middle-of-Your-Week, come to Joanne's Taize service. They are lovingly offered every other month, the next one being on Wed. Nov. 18th. While ALL the services at NHCRS are wonderful, this one creates a different entry point - that is, an inner portal shaped exclusively by music and the reading of passages from sacred texts. The high vibration of Joanne's voice (and your own singing!) -- opens the heart, allowing for a deeper kind of listening to the timeless wisdom…

IN honor of women's history month and in memory of Erma Bombeck who lost her fight with cancer.
IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - by Erma Bombeck
(written after she found out she was dying from cancer).
I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
I would have talked less and listened more.
I would have invited fri…

Perception ... something to think about...
Washington, DC Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007. The man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time approx. 2 thousand people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After 3 minutes a middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried to meet his schedule.
4 minutes later:
The violinist received his first doll…

Last Saturday my 2nd eldest son took me to see Spamalot, which if you don't know is a spoof on some Monty Python skits. But towards the end of the show they sing a song that Eric Idle wrote here it is:
Some things in life are bad, They can really make you made
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...
And... always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light si…

Over the last 30 years I have lost 5 family members to cancer, including my sister to breast cancer. This was all from my fathers side of the family. The experts would say it is genetic, however, I have come to believe differently. It is my conclusion that there will never be a cure as long as monies continue to support failed science. I say this from having been on the inside and having been a nurse for over 17 years.
Whatever your "belief" about cancer- there are those who have discovered the…
