It was great being at the animal blessing and woman-ing the memorial and honorary table where photos are brought to be blessed in the event that the animal isn't in physical attendance. Two dogs,one large and one small met and played throughout the event. I enjoyed a very friendly Doxie named Casey, and we met two very tame and beautiful bunnies who wore their sharp-looking and colorful cloth harnesses that looked like little vests on them. I saw Rev. Keven taking photos and I wonder how soon we will get to see them.
Besides the blessings (done by our practitioners) we really enjoyed the beautiful music and the readings that were testimony to, not just how much we love and value our animals, but also in recognition of the depth and awareness that these loving souls possess and the unconditional expression of their love. I always think about how easy it is to love an animal at first sight. If you haven't attended the annual blessing, I hope you choose to experience it next year. All through the year, the Animal Kinship Ministry is available to assist people with prayer and sometimes helpful referrals. Also, the ministry is a source of spiritual support during difficult times, even near, during and after an animal's time of transition. We have a table you can visit between or after Sunday service, where you can ask questions or leave prayer requests.We look forward to meeting and serving animals and their human companions.
