Welcome to your new NHCRS website. This thread will describe some of the features of the site and how you can play an active role in your church online community.
Membership. Please join. Sign up. It's free. It's fun.
Here's the link. Click here. The site will ask for your email address, password, and your birthday, which is used for identification (you don't have to display it). Your email address will never be sold, shared, or published.
Your Profile Page. This is where other members can learn a little bit about you and your spiritual journey and see your beautiful face (you can add a picture). Each member also gets a blog and a place for comments. You can design your page, add widgets, and create a powerful presence. You can also upload photos to the site that the whole community can see.
Forums. These are discussion forums where you can ask questions and share ideas. Have a question for Dr. Mark or one of our staff ministers? Ask it here. Questions for a practitioner? We have a place for that. Looking for current and archived copies of our newsletter, "The Loving Word?" They're here, too. And of course, there's a forum for Gourmets for God.
The Calendar. Here you'll find all the classes, events, and cool stuff that's scheduled at the church. Have an event you'd like on the calendar? Just send a note to events@nhcrs.org. Important: you must register on the site in order to rsvp to an event or class online.
Class Registration. Under the "
Classes" tab is a menu called "
Class Reg." Here you can register for a class and pay the tuition. You can, of course, still sign up for a class the old fashioned way - on the patio after a church service or by calling the church office.
There are also
groups on the site. This is a very powerful part of our online community. Each class that takes place at church will have its own private group. This is a secure place where classmates can privately share their experiences in the class. Assignments and readings can be posted, and resource material linked to. These groups will be moderated by the instructor and can stay on the site forever, so the bond that forms in the class can continue with an online presence long after the class has ended.
There are a few specific groups that are only accessible by invitation: the practitioner group is for our licensed practitioners, the Youth Ministry group is for the volunteers and staff of Junior Church, and the Board of Trustees has a private group.
If you'd like to form a group, just let us know at events@nhcrs.org.
Then there is a lot of information about our church. Under the
About Us tab you'll find information about our
weekly services, some background on Religious Science,
a link to tithe, and other information. And keep checking the main page for members' birthdays.
This is your site! Please join it, use it, share it, help us expand it, and let us know what features you'd like to see.
